'The universe had other ideas': They bought their dream house, but it was the cat who came back to it that made it truly feel like home

Talk about purrfect timing! One year ago, this proud new homeowner was just settling in with two kids and a promise. Once the budget bounced back, they'd adopt a cat. But the universe clearly didn't want to wait. One night, a determined feline showed up at their door, meowing like she already had the keys. Within seconds, she'd claimed the house, leaping from counters to cabinets like a fuzzy parkour champion.

Turns out, Angel (as she's now lovingly called) had been abandoned by the home's previous owner and she stuck around waiting for her real family to move in. She may have started as a stowaway, but now she's the queen of the castle, complete with her own bed on the cabinets and two kitten sidekicks to rule alongside her.

From stray to spoiled, this is one glow-up story for the hiss-tory books. Sometimes you don't choose the cat. The cat chooses you (and your mortgage).

    Well, the universe had other ideas. This cat came meowing to us one night outside the door. I opened my front door and she ran inside as if she knew the place already. In a split second, she jumped on top of the counters to the fridge, to the top of the kitchen cabinets

    I posted on the neighborhood Facebook page and I asked my next door neighbors if anyone knew anything. I was told the old owner actually did kick the cat out and leave her behind. And honestly, she's better off here with us considering the condition I bought the house in. The basement was basically a litter box, deep claw scratches on the inside of doors etc...
